IT Auditing
Auditing an existing infrastructure enables us to undertake capacity planning
and determine the suitability of the existing equipment for re-use or upgrade.
During the audit process we are able to identify any potential issues and/or
bottlenecks in the existing systems whilst establishing a performance and
capacity benchmark for comparison with future modifications and upgrades.
Business and Systems Analysis
Many SME’s (Small - Medium Enterprises) may not have the necessary
in-house experience or resources to accurately determine the business
requirements and justification for IT expenditure. Whilst investing in
a corporate website or other may sound like a great idea, we can provide
business analysts to accurately determine if and how an R.O.I (return
on investment) can best be achieved.
Strategic Planning
“
The best defence is offence” - a philosophy which can be adopted
by most businesses is to be proactive as opposed to reactive. With a
little effort, business managers can forecast business growth and budget
for planned IT expenditure in advance. This allows sufficient time to
define the most appropriate solution and to obtain tenders for the necessary
software and equipment.
Solution Specification
Many SME’s often mistakenly purchase technology which is not a
holistic fit with the business’s requirements and/or medium and
long term goals, wasting both money and resources. By utilising a solution
specification process, we enable the project stakeholders and end-users
to define these requirements, enabling us to determine the technology
which best complements the circumstances.
Project Management
A project, by definition has specific start and end dates and usually
consists of a defined scope, finite budget, specific end results (or
deliverables) and assigned resources. One of the primary roles of Project
Managers is the management of the work process, and as a project gets
larger, there is more need to utilize formal processes and techniques
in order to minimize risk.
System Deployment and Integration
Once specified and delivered to site, the Project Manager will ensure
that the new system is deployed and integrated with the existing business
systems in accordance with the documented deployment strategy. To ensure
that live systems are integrated smoothly, we will often undergo a
simulated or offline implementation and establish contingency plans
to facilitate a live rollback as necessary.
Change and Issue Management
In larger development and/or integration projects it is essential to
accurately define and manage the scope of the project requirements
in order to avoid budget and schedule overruns causing the project
to fail to meet its goals. A robust and thorough change and issue management
process enables our team to manage the inevitable amendments to scope
that are part of any project.
Servicing and Support
Through a service and maintenance plan, the inherent risk of downtime
associated with all technology based solutions can be reduced to an
acceptable level. Regular checks on the health and performance of the
associated systems can alert the client of a potential issue and enable
preventative steps to be undertaken with little or no impact on the
business.
